Platoon Leader Hospital Battalion

The Hospital Battalion is looking for platoon leaders for a unit that is experiencing rapid growth.

Defense Medicine Center

The Defense Medicine Center is the Armed Forces' center for the function of defense medicine, located in Gothenburg. Our mission is to provide the Armed Forces with qualified personnel in health and medical care, in addition to the mission of developing and supplying medical materials and pharmaceuticals. The Hospital Battalion operates as the Armed Forces' operational field hospital unit with operational capability both nationally and internationally, emphasizing leadership, logistics, and medical care. Additionally, the unit conducts conscription training. The personnel categories present in the unit include medical personnel, officers, soldiers, civilian employees, and conscripts.

Main Responsibilities

As a platoon leader, you will have overall personnel and operational responsibility for the platoon's officers and soldiers. In this role, the platoon leader, together with the deputy platoon leader, will be responsible for leading, planning, and developing the operations as well as the platoon's employees within the framework of the Hospital Battalion's mission. This is done in collaboration with other platoon leaders and company management.

Qualifications

  • Approved Professional Officer Training/Reserve Officer Training, at least level OF1. Alternatively, specialist officer training OR6 and appointed as Sergeant Major
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Good experience with PRIO and shift planning
  • Driving license B
  • Swedish citizenship

Meritorious

  • Experience in military leadership, e.g., served as a platoon leader or deputy platoon leader
  • Instructor training in the following areas:
    • GKÖLAK
    • SUSA
  • Experience working in logistics units within the Armed Forces
  • Experience in defense medicine

Personal Qualities

The Defense Medicine Center (FömedC) is the Armed Forces' center for the function of defense medicine, located in Gothenburg. FömedC consists of a management with a staff, the Armed Forces Combat School for Defense Medicine (FSS), the Functional Unit (FunkE), and the Hospital Battalion (Sjhbat). The center has licensed health and medical care personnel such as doctors, veterinarians, nurses, etc. Here, there are officers, reserve officers, civilian staff, and conscripts. The Defense Medicine Center is part of the Gothenburg Garrison.
